Penguins grab fifth in Florida

The Youngstown State women's golf team started their spring season on a positive note on Tuesday.
The Penguins were able to grab fifth place out of 11 schools after the team shot a two-round total of 660 (331-329) at the Don Benbow Invitational in Jacksonville Beach, Fla.
Sophomore Samantha Formeck, senior Ann Ciavarella and junior Katie Rogner paced Youngstown State as they each finished in the top fifteen of the individual standings. Formeck's two-round score of 158 landed her in eighth place, while Ciavarella and Rogner each shot a 163 for the tournament to finish in a tie for 14th.
Youngstown State will not have much time to celebrate their spring-opening success, however, as they will travel to Tampa, Fla., to compete in the NIU Snowbird Invitational on Wednesday.
